Mission
Implement dataset upload and metadata extraction for raster and vector data.
Required features
- Upload endpoint for datasets.
- Save original file unchanged.
- Compute checksum.
- Detect raster vs vector.
- Extract raster metadata with Rasterio.
- Extract vector metadata with GeoPandas/Fiona.
- Store metadata in dataset record.
- Generate basic preview for raster if feasible.
- Add tests with small fixtures.
Rules
- Do not require external production datasets for tests.
- Use small test fixtures.
- If GDAL/Rasterio dependency issues exist, document clearly and keep code structured.
- Do not fake metadata.
